Pentacam is the reference device for analysing the cornea and anterior eye segment, made in Germany since 2002. Its rotating Scheimpflug camera measures the whole anterior segment in seconds, without contact and independent of the tear film. Depending on the model it adds optical biometry, whole-eye wavefront with objective refraction, or high-resolution cornea OCT. It is used in cataract and refractive surgery, keratoconus and CXL, contact lens fitting and myopia management.
